Northwest Girls Basketball Season Ends In District Final Round

(Beatrice, NE) - The final game of the season was played on Saturday for the Northwest girl's basketball team as the Vikings fell at Beatrice 56-29. Northwest would fall behind early 10-1 before the Vikings would hit their first two-point bucket of the game with 1:15 remaining in the first quarter. The Vikings would trail at the end of the 1st 13-5. Both teams would score eight points in a back-and-forth second quarter as the Lady O would go into the halftime break with an eight-point lead, 21-13. Northwest at one time in the 2nd quarter would only trail by seven points after a Laiken Dorsey three-pointer would cut the score 17-10. Beatrice would then come out of the locker room with a 13-8 third quarter to lead 34-21. The game would get away from Northwest in the fourth quarter as the Lady O would run away with the victory outscoring the Vikings 22-8. 

With the win, Beatrice advances to the girls Class B state basketball tournament next week starting on Wednesday. Northwest sees it's season end with a record of 12-13.
