Offense: Domestic Assault
Victim: 29 year old female Incident #: L24042387
Offender: Michael Yepez
Date and Time of Incident: 4/27/24 @ 01:30
Location of Incident: 113 Kimball Ave
Brief Narrative: On 04/28/2024 at 1905 hours, Officers were dispatched for a reported assault. An adult female reported her husband Michael Yepez, hit her in the face multiple times causing visible injury. The female also reported that Michael later threatened to stab and kill her. She reported after threatening to kill her, Michael threw a butter knife at her striking her in the chest causing pain. The adult female reported their three juvenile children were present when Michael threatened her life and threw the knife, striking her. She advised officers their children were terrified. Statements provided by a witness corroborated the victim’s statements. Michael was later located and placed under arrest for Use of Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony, Attempt of a Class 2 Felony, Negligent Child Abuse x3, Terroristic Threats, and DV Assault-3rd/Cause Bodily Injury.

Victim: Equitable Bank & Levander’s Incident #: L24042216
Offender: Troy D. Baumann

Location of Incident: Equitable Bank
Brief Narrative: Bank Branch Manager of Equitable Bank contacted Police to report an adult male attempting to cash a stolen check. Male left bank after requesting his North Carolina ID, SS card and the check back. Troy D. Baumann was later contacted and found to be in possession of check he attempted to cash. Video was observed and statements taken from Equitable bank employees. Levanders, the victim of the stolen check, was also contacted and confirmed the check this person attempted to cash was their account number however the amount had been changed as had been the design of the check. Bauman as arrested for one count of 2nd Degree Forgery and one count of Possession of a Forged Instrument.

Offender: Pedro Munoz

Location of Incident: E Division & S Plum St
Brief Narrative: On 04/26/2024, Officers observed a Blue 2007 Dodge Charger, with expired license plates. A traffic stop was conducted and the odor of marijuana was noted to be coming from the vehicle. Pedro Munoz was identified as the driver of the vehicle by his Nebraska driver’s license. Pedro admitted to smoking marijuana one hour prior and to marijuana being in the vehicle. The vehicle was searched locating 6.6 grams of marijuana in a white plastic baggie along with drug paraphernalia in the center console. A presumptive test was conducted of the contents of the baggie testing positive for marijuana. Pedro showed signs of impairment during standardized field sobriety tests and would provide a passing preliminary breath test. A drug recognition evaluation was completed, in which the drug recognition expert determined Pedro to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Pedro would refuse to submit to a
chemical test. A records check of Pedro was completed showing two prior DUI convictions in the past fifteen years. Pedro was DUI-Drug-3rd Offense, No Valid Registration, Refuse to Submit to Test-3rd offense, Drug Paraphernalia and Possess Marijuana =<1 ounce ; 1st off.

Offense: Sex Offense

Brief Narrative: On 04/26/2024, Officers responded to a reported Sex Offense in the city limits of Grand Island. It was reported photos of a juvenile female are circulating on social media. Investigation is ongoing.

Offense: Gun Shots

Location of Incident: W 6th & N Wheeler
Brief Narrative: On 04-27-2024 approximately 0030 hours, officer respond to the area of 6th and Wheeler Ave to reports of gunshots. Victim reported that an unknown male drove past Abbot Park on N Cleburn St where she was walking and began to fire a gun. She advised that a male walking behind her ran west through an alley. The vehicle than traveled west on W 17th street at a high rate of speed. Victim was unsure if they were shooting at her or the other unknown male. There were multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots in the area. No shell casings were located in the area.

Offender: Arkangelo Kuol

Location of Incident: W 6th St & N Eddy St
Brief Narrative: On 04/27/2024, officers responded to a traffic incident call for service on 6th and Eddy street. Upon arrival, Officers would be informed by paramedics on scene that the male driver of a black Jeep Compass involved in the accident, had an odor of alcohol emitting from his person. The male would be transported to SFMC to receive treatment. The male would be identified by his Nebraska Identification card as Arkangelo Kuol. A records check would reveal that Arkangelo Kuol has a revoked license with an enhancement and with a prior conviction. A records check would also reveal Arkangelo has five prior DUI convictions. While at SFMC, Arkangelo would have blood shot watery eyes, slurred speech, the odor of alcohol emitting from his person, and would stumble while walking. Arkangelo would refuse to submit to a PBT. Arkangelo would be medically cleared and transported to HCC. While at HCC Arkangelo would submit to a chemical test of his breath and would provide a failing sample. Arkangelo Kuol was arrested for DUI (5th Offense), Drive During Revoked Enhanced and Refuse To Test (PBT).

Location of Incident: 900 Block of S Sycamore
Brief Narrative: On 04/27/2024, officers observed a silver Dodge Grand Caravan driving westbound on 4th street. A records check would reveal that the registered owner is revoked with a Merrick County warrant. A traffic stop was conducted on the 900 block of S Sycamore street. The driver would be identified by his Nebraska Identification Card as Guillermo Anzora. A records check would confirm that Guillermo has a revoked license from prior DUI convictions and an active Merrick County warrant. Guillermo would be arrested for the Merrick County Warrant and Drive During Revocation from DUI.

Brief Narrative: Person reported finding a visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct portraying a 16 year old. Case is open.

Offense: Burglary
Victim: Shady Bend Cafe Incident #: L24042271

Location of Incident: 3609 E Hwy 30
Brief Narrative: On 04-27-2024 at approximately 06:58 hours, at 3609 W Hwy 30 Shady Bend Cafe, the owner reported a male broke a window and frame with a rock. The damage was estimated at $500. The male entered into the business between 22:23 and 22:31 hours on 04-26-2024 and took a Coconut Crème pie from the fridge valued at $30 and cash money in the amount of $179. Investigation is ongoing.

Offender: 11 year old female
Date and Time of Incident: between 4/28/24 & 4/29/24
Location of Incident: 2114 W 2nd St
Brief Narrative: On 04/28/2024 around 1939 hrs, officers were detailed to 2114 W 2nd St, Resident Suites Inn, reference a juvenile problem. An adult male reported his 11 year old daughter had struck him multiple times with her hands and feet along with biting him leaving marks. The 11 year old female was transported to the Law Enforcement Center for a Juvenile Probation intake. While conducting the intake, the 11 year old female kicked an officer in a sensitive area with her foot causing pain. The 11 year old then continued to cause issues and spit on two separate officers at different times. Based on the age of the juvenile, she was referred for 3rd Degree Assault on Officer, two counts of Assault with Bodily Fluid Against Police Officer, and 3rd Degree Assault.

Brief Narrative: Officers arrived at W 3rd St. and N Cedar St. in reference to threats. Officers contacted the reporting party who advised he was riding his bicycle when the suspect began to chase him and make threats. The investigation is ongoing.
