YMCA Summer Fun Club


The Grand Island YMCA is offering Summer Fun Club for school age children at the Downtown Y. Summer Fun Club will be held weekdays beginning Tuesday, May 30 and ending Friday, August 11.


Children enrolled in YMCA Summer Fun Club will enjoy swimming, aerobic dance classes, gym activities, games, and free play. In addition they will enjoy crafts, reading time, nutritional workshops, visits to the City Library and a field trip each week.


Daily, weekly and summer rates are available. Participants must pre-register to attend. Space is limited to 70 children.

YMCA Summer Boot Camp


June 5 thru August 2


BRUTE CAMP is 9 weeks of challenging workouts for all fitness levels. BRUTE CAMP includes interval and body weight exercises, as well as an optional training plan for the 5K or Half-Marathon for the Nebraska State Fair Race Series.
Classes will include on-site and off-site training sessions with morning and evening options. Teens age 15 and up are welcome with parent or guardian.


Mornings Session: 5:15-6:15 am Monday Wednesday Friday
Evenings Session: 5:15-6:15 pm Monday Wednesday

YMCA Swim Lessons

Learning to swim not only saves lives, it builds self-confidence and gives you or your child a healthy activity to enjoy the rest of your lives. The YMCA offer two swimming options for everyone in your family.
Group Swim Lessons - Learn safety around water and drowning prevention strategies, in addition to progressing through swim lesson levels. Registration is open for classes that begin the week of June 5.
Face Up First Swim Lessons - This low instructor-to-student ratio class teaches swim safety and progresses through swim lesson levels. The next session of Face Up First lessons start the week of June 5.

Grand Island YMCA Sand Volleyball


The Grand Island YMCA will host recreational adult co-ed sand volleyball leagues. Games will be played at the sand volleyball courts at Superbowl and will be played Thursdays in two sessions: June 15 – July 6 and July 13 – August 3. The fee is $90 for each team. Teams will be made up of three males and three females.
